Pundit Hardeo Persad
Pujjya Pundit Hardeo Persad, host of the Thursday morning program SWAHA comes from a family of Pundits and is the eldest son of Shankaracharya Pujjya Pundit Hari Prasad. He is a retired Mathematics teacher a job that he performed for twenty-five years; a founder of SWAHA Inc (the second largest Hindu organisation of Trinidad and Tobago) and second most senior Pundit after his father in SWAHA.
Pundit Hardeo has been actively performing Hindu pujas and rites for thirty-five years and is spiritual leader of the Gyaan Deepak Kirtan Mandali of Aranguez, where he conducts satsangs at present.
Punditji decided to join the Radio 90.5 family because he believes 90.5 reaches a large listening audience, has been an effective medium in promoting Hinduism and enjoys working with our staff. His work as a spiritual leader has taken him to places like New York, Canada, Washington and Florida where he has been spreading the teachings of Hinduism and has also made four (4) visits to India.
Aside from his duties as a Pundit he is a family man and is a husband and father of two lovely kids. His wife is a senior Biology teacher, his son is a graduate engineer of U.W.I. and his daughter is presently a student of U.W.I.; his daughter-in-law is also a University graduate.
